The course is based on active learning, demanding your attention and participation throughout. Because the lessons are meant to train and practice your skills, you will need theoretical knowledge from reading course material and finishing tests.
Aim of the course - to gain basic practical skills in clinical medicine during practice sessions.
Course objectives:
- Learn how to estimate the priority of the aid.
- Learn to dress and take off surgical gown properly when you suspect contact with patients who may be infected or have Covid-19.
- Learn to communicate with a conflicted person in the provision of medical services.
- To learn to assess the condition of a patient with sepsis and septic shock and prescribe initial treatment.
- To learn the basics of mechanical ventilation (MV).
- To learn to defibrillate and perform synchronized cardioversion using a manual defibrillator.
- Learn to keep open airway with noninvasive techniques to preoxygenate.
- To learn tissue suturing.
- Learn the standardized approach to the examination of the patient with acute abdomen.
- Learn how to assess and manage the patient with suspected sepsis and learn the structured handover of the patient.
- Learn the principle of primary survey and initial management of severe trauma patient based on the ABCDE sequence.
- Learn the sequence of diagnostic and treatment actions for a patient with dyspepsia.
- Learn to diagnose and provide assistance in cases of gastrointestinal bleeding.
- To learn to perform standardized initial assessment according to ABCDE principal.
- To know how to assess and recognize unstable condition.
- To learn to perform first aid during heart rhythm disorder.
- Learn to perform condition assessment and examination in acute non-traumatic abdominal pain.
- Learn to assess the condition of a patient with kidney disease, diagnose and provide care in cases of acute kidney disease and hyperkalemia.
- Learn how to perform gastric lavage on a poisoned patient.

- appropriately don and doff protective suit in suspected COVID-19 infection,
- appropriately don and doff surgical gown in suspected COVID-19 infection,
- appropriately don and doff PPE items: respirator, goggles, glove.
