The aim of the course is to develop basic practical skills in clinical medicine through practical sessions.
The course is designed for medical students and residents studying emergency medicine, intensive care, surgery, traumatology, gastroenterology, paediatrics, nephrology, urology. This is a series of practical skills in a simulation classroom.
At the end of the course you will be able to:
-prioritise the provision of assistance,
-put on and take off PPE in the event of a dangerous infection,
-apply the basic principles of communicating with an aggressive patient,
-assess the septic and septic shock patient's condition and administer initial treatment,
-calculate the dose of vasopressor,
-preparing the ventilator for ventilation and setting initial parameters,
-evaluate the effectiveness of DPV,
-defibrillate and perform synchronised cardioversion with a manual defibrillator,
-open the airway manually,
-insert oropharyngeal tube,
-insert nasopharyngeal tube,
-insert laryngeal mask,
-ventilate with a bag and mask,
-preoxygenate with non-invasive means to maintain an open airway,
-perform an initial and detailed wound examination and prepare the operating theatre,
-anaesthetize the wound,
-sew the wound with a separate knotted, adaptive, intracutaneous suture,
-remove sutures from the wound,
-perform digital examination,
-perform clinical abdominal examination,
-catheterise the urinary pulse,
-measure peritoneal pressure,
-transmit patient information using SBAR,
-introduce a nasogastric probe,
-apply a pressure dressing,
-insert tourniquet,
-perform the initial examination of the severely traumatised patient, prescribe life-saving treatment,
-diagnose dyspepsia and prescribe treatment,
-diagnose and treat gastrointestinal bleeding,
-perform targeted clinical examination of a patient with jaundice,

-perform the initial examination of the child according to the ABCDE principle,

-the differential diagnosis of jaundice,
-the specifics of the investigation of the patient with cirrhosis,
-how to assess ascites,
-causes of acute respiratory failure in children, pathogenesis, differential diagnosis,
-causes and mechanisms of childhood arrhythmias,
-the most common causes of non-traumatic abdominal pain in children, differential diagnosis, treatment tactics,
-the causes and treatment tactics of congenital insufficiency,
-the management of hyperkalaemia,
-indications, contraindications and complications of gastric lavage,
-the indications for and principles of administration of activated carbon.
